Why should I submit a report?

White-collar crime and corruption are characterised in particular by the fact that the perpetrators seal themselves off to a large extent and act in a conspiratorial manner. Criminal structures can only be dismantled if persons are willing to support the National Police.

You can protect yourself by submitting a report anonymously, at the same time you help to uncover criminal behaviour and thus contribute to strengthening our rule of law. With your help, criminal activities can be uncovered at an early stage, perpetrators can be identified and further damage averted.

What kind of reports can I submit?

You can submit reports for the following categories:

• Money laundering
• Financing of terrorism
• White-collar crimes
• Corruption offences
• Human trafficking

Information on other areas of crime cannot be reported via this whistleblower system.

The system also cannot be used for emergency calls. We therefore ask you in case of emergency or danger to contact the emergency number 117 of the National Police.

How does a report work, how do I set up a postbox?

If you wish to send a report by name or anonymously, please click the “Submit report“ button at the top of our introduction page.

The reporting process comprises 4 steps:

1. First, you will be asked to read some information on the protection of your anonymity and to answer a security query.
2. On the following page, you will be asked about the category of your report.
3. On the report page, you can elaborate on your report in your own words and answer questions about the case via a simple answer selection. For the free text you have 5000 characters at your disposal, which corresponds to a full A4 page. You may also submit a file of up to 5 MB to support your report. Please do bear in mind that documents can contain information about the author. After sending your report, you will receive a reference number as confirmation that you have forwarded this report.
4. Afterwards, please set up your own secured postbox. You will receive feedback from us via this postbox, answer questions and be informed about the progress of your report.

If you already have a secured postbox, you can access it directly by clicking the ”Login“ button. Here again, you will have to answer a security query.

As long as you do not enter any data that allows conclusions about your person, the BKMS^® System will protect your anonymity technically.

We assure you that we are only interested in the case reported by you. Abuses should be revealed and financial losses averted.

How do I receive feedback and still remain anonymous?

The highest principle of the BKMS^® process used here is the protection of the whistleblower. The functionality of the anonymity protection is certified by an independent body.

When setting up your secured postbox, you choose your own pseudonym/ user name and password. These access data are not visible to anyone except yourself. Your report is kept anonymous by encryption and other special security measures. If you submit your report anonymously, you do not have to provide any personal information. Do not submit any information that can be traced back to you. Please do not use a computer provided by your employer to submit your report.

Via the secured postbox, the National Police will give you feedback on what happens with your report or ask you questions if some details are still unclear - you remain anonymous even during the dialogue. We are interested in reports in order to avert damage, not in you as a whistleblower.
